The Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation 35th annual Gala 2009 will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2009. Gala concert at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall, on Seventh Avenue between 56th Street and 57th Street, at 3pm followed by Cocktails and Dinner at 6:30pm at the New York Athletic Club, 180 Central Park South.

The Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation International Competition is one of the major and the highest standard vocal competitions in the United States. Since 1974 our organization has given awards to hundreds of young singers and many of them rose to international stardom. The competition takes place in April and the Foundation presents winners on the concert stage at the annual gala event in October of the same year in New York. The awards ranging from $1,000 to $12,500, total prize money of $50,000, in 7 categories are given to the winners, often more than one winner in the same category. Awards are given on the day of the gala event.
